A personal memorial day for my brother, Steve Barr – 12/15/54-1/3/05
Loved, Loved, LOVED my brother from the moment he was born, when I appointed myself his lifelong protector. Never was there a sweeter, more ingenuous human being, most likely due to my influence :). He succumbed to complications of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in the Emergency Room of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. His wife, Merle, said he died with a beautiful smile on his face. What a wonderful gift that I can remember each January 3rd.
A few pictures from his life………….
Summer 1957
Steve and I, Summer 1958
1962, picture taken the night prior to cosmetic surgery to have his ears pinned back. Kids teased him, called him Dumbo.
1963 – Ears look great! Now we have to do something about his protruding teeth, another source of embarrassment to him, and why he often wouldn’t smile in pictures.
1968. At last, braces and a big smile!

Steve did a spot-on Bullwinkle impression and often performed entire Bullwinkle routines. When he was 10 yrs old or so, he was thin as a stick, and I would fall on the floor laughing when he would march across the room, kicking his skinny little legs out like a Rockette, doing it Bullwinkle-style. You know…… like this:
Steve, I love you. Just remember this – “Wee willie winkie!”
I hope you enjoyed this brief glimpse into his life and mine.

My most coveted resource as a female business owner & entrepreneur

SAVOR THE SUCCESS has been invaluable to my business in staying viable during these difficult economic times. One of many tools it provides are Mastermind Hours. To illustrate, here’s the agenda for an upcoming online meeting for Premium members in Southern California conducted by Ann Baker, a fabulous PR professional.
At the Mastermind Hour, we’ll all clear our desktops, pour a fresh cup of coffee or tea, clear our heads, log in online to the first website [belonging to a meeting participant] on the schedule, and call in. In turn, we’ll visit each person’s website and the featured member will be given 7-10 minutes of the full attention and brainstorming power of the group. When it’s your turn, you’ll explain what you’re working on and what you want/need to happen in your business over the next month and year. The group will devote its brainstorming energy to you, and you’ll come away with an assignment to keep you productive and focused during these hectic weeks!
