A very moving 5-minute video at the Thalasso Baby Bath Spa in France, owned by Sonia Rochel, an early childcare specialist. This is a professional service offered for babies up to 2 months old. Each session runs 10-15 minutes. The bath reminds baby of their recent time in the womb. Peaceful music in the background will relax you also.

Step away from the computer for about 15 minutes. There’s so much vying for your attention, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, email, Facebook, comments, the list goes on. In my mind, I tell myself, I’ll just look for a moment, and the next thing I know more than an hour has gone by. I feel a small sense of shame to have (once again) mismanaged my time.

During the 15 minute break, Amy suggests:

Review your daily to-do list. Did you complete everything?

What’s coming up? What can you get ahead on?

Choose the most profitable thing, not a good thing, but the best thing at that moment.

Itchy fingers with fluid-filled blisters? Think herpes simplex infection.

When the cluster of blisters appear on the fingers, it’s actually called Herpetic Whitlow, a herpes simplex infection. 60% of herpes whitlow is caused by the same virus as a cold sore, herpes simplex virus I, while 40% are caused by herpes simplex virus II (genital herpes). The triggers for an outbreak are the same as for cold sores: stress, fatigue, lowered immune system, menstruation, pregnancy.

This infection is no less contagious than a cold sore or genital herpes infection, and particularly so when the blisters open. Be vigilent to avoid touching areas of your body where there might be an open cut or lesion, your eyes, genital and buttocks to avoid infecting those areas.

And like a cold sore, the outbreak can be treated with your favorite cold sore remedy or supplement. If your fave is not preventing the outbreak at the early symptom, try Cold Sores Begone, a topical, non-toxic remedy safe enough for kids, or L-lysine supplements.

And can they hurt! Not very attractive either. Regardless of where a cold sore appears, in or around the nose, the lips, the chin, facial cheeks, the triggers that cause an eruption are the same:

Anything that compromises the immune system
Being run down
Stress
Illness
Injury to the area
Over-exposure to strong sunlight
Lack of adequate sleep
Menstruation
Pregnancy

Wherever the cold sore is prone to appear, its actual appearance is preceeded by an early warning symptom such as a ‘tingle’, itch, or numb sensation. At this stage, it’s possible to prevent or reduce the severity of the eruption with remedies such as herbal Cold Sores Begone, over-the-counter remedies, or prescription drugs such as Zovirax.
